Welcome to our May release notes

In this release we worked hard on improving workflows (those embedded in client portals and those used to sell services).  Data can now flow between widgets, users can fill out forms faster, a quote can be electronically signed as well as paid for, and admins can manage workflow easier, especially when dealing with multiple instances of it within the same portal.

Variables

Data can now be dynamically migrated between forms and contracts.  This is particularly userful when a client fills out a questionnaire and in a subsequent step needs to sign an agreement that requires inforation just entered.  The feature works via ‘default values’ which can be populated with variable names, enclosed in double curly braces.

In this example “form” is the variable name of the Form widget (defined in the workflow) and “position” is the name of the text widget defined inside the form.  If the ‘read only’ flag is turned on, the client will not be able to change the value that is presented in the contract. Otherwise they will be able to edit it.

Adding Services to the Contract

It is now possible to automatically add PDF pages of Services / Quote to the contract.  It is useful if a user accepts a quote which should then be added to the agreement and signed electronically.  The feature works by converting the Services/Quote widget into  PDF pages and appending them to the end of the agreement.  The pages will include service descriptions and all other details defined in SalesFlows.

Dynamic labelling of workflow names

It is now possible to automatically add custom labels to portal names which are filled out periodically.  This is particularly useful when a client fills out a new instance of the same workflow.  In the past such workflows had the same name, making them difficult to distinquish.  Now, workflow administrator can assign a dynamic label which can be created based on specific client answers (for example a 2024 Tax questionnaire can have “2024” label).  This feature can be setup via advanced wokflow settings.

Make sure that the variable is enclosed in double curly braces such as {{Form.Year}}.

Faster form filling

Users can now fill out forms by importing data from previous submissions.  This is super helpful when a user is required to fill out a long questionaire, for esample a tax form, which has been filled out previously.  Starting with a pre-filled form saves lots of time as some values may be the same or very similar.
